This wheel thrown berry bowl is a beautiful way to store and serve fresh berries.
It's actually a colander that I put holes into while the clay was soft.
I made the tray that it sits on by rolling out clay and impressing a cabbage leaf into it for texture. The glaze on the leaf and the leaf decorations on the legs of this berry bowl is a pretty translucent celery celedon while the rest of the bowl is glazed in a glossy robin's egg blue. It's a beautiful combination.
This berry bowl will hold 2 quarts of berries and is 4.5" high x 8" across. I signed the leaf on its bottom.
While this berry bowl is durable enough for use in the dishwasher and microwave (should you wish to steam some vegetables in the colander), it will retain its fresh good looks with limited microwave use and hand washing.
This is a stock photo of my berry bowl...yours won't be exactly like this but close and just as pretty. I also make them in cobalt blue, yellow, peach, red, green, and purple. If you want it in those colors, leave me a note in the message to seller at check out.
Thank you for stopping by! All the pottery in my shop was made by me either on my pottery wheel or handmade. I make almost all my own glazes, and they are food safe and can be used in the oven, microwave or dishwasher unless the description says otherwise. However, as with any handmade pottery, it will retain its fresh good looks longer with handwashing and limited microwave use. I accept custom orders and will sell wholesale to galleries/shops....please contact me for information.
